You're Brand-Platform
I want to help clarify, what is " YOU'RE' BRAND
Today I ran across an article about- Stay at home MOMS
Yes I know, this subject again. Wait for a moment and read- I think people need to be in the KNOW down in the trenches about this subject-
When I became a widow, the subject came up about, "Cindy what are "YOU" going to do". For that moment, and I will say for that very moment thought, "Oh My God", what am I going to do?. You see, often times I have been placed in that BOX, STAY AT HOME MOM. People, just don't get this whole STAY AT HOME Thang. People just don't see the real "YOU" so to say.
I worked out side of the home, (part time). for awhile. I became such an asset, to my friends that were working out of the home full time. I became their Ali's. there voice to their children, there second mom sorta speak. We need moms that stay home- they are the ones that help raise our children. They are our mainstay. So, your saying what does this have to do with a brand, well it's just this. people forget WHO they are inside, their talents- what can they bring forth to your community.
I started to realize, who I was inside when I started my blog. All the community service that I have done. The people I have worked with over the course of many years. These are our unsung hero's. People that help with in the back ground that nobody see's.
I see young mother's walking with their children., and I'd say to myself, "that was me some 30 odd years ago". Since then I have become a business owner- had to learn marketing- How to have Great customer service. How to listen to people and what they want, not to say learning the books. I received all this education from being as a so called "STAY AT HOME MOM".
Often people have mentioned to me that I have great people skills. We'll listen to young children, that's how you learn. How to decipher what they really need and what is fisible. Really listen, answering people honestly- and say, If I don't know I will find out for you. All these skills is what "your" Brand-Platform is. Don't count yourself out
I've such a love for children's books- way back when. We had a brand spanking new school. Wow everything was new, even the books were new. Very limited I mind you, just the basic of books. So I thought, we really need to build this library up. I can't ask parents again to donate money. Geez.
So I thought, I'd helped a young mother before with building a schools library, (my children attend in the previous year), with what was called
" THE BIRTHDAY BOOK CLUB".
What this is, is just that. A birthday book, on their birthday (children), would donate a hardcover book to the library, and with that they would receive a brass candle book marker with the date-and book's name. Plus, they would get a stamp in the book with their name on it. So, when other students would open it up, they would see this. It really caught on- In the library was a HUGH cake. Once a month all the children that had donated a book, would see that there was a paper candle on the cake that showed who donated.
So when I started a building my brand sometime ago, I had to think about what was "MY" brand- Suzanne http://www.getknownnow.com/, she was such and influence to me. Helped me see inside of myself and all that I have contibuted. Not even realizing this. So today I seen this and had to re-post the article, so letting people know that.
When you decide to write your first book or start off as a writer, you have no foundation . . . or so you think. In looking at yourself in a résumé sort-of-way, you might be surprised at the foundation you possess, often identifying better ways to springboard into the public's eye than through a first book and an unknown name.
Before you were a writer or author, you were something or somebody else. Start that elusive platform through indirect means, using all your skills, talents, education, and experiences. In a roundabout way you become a name before your dream project ever gets off the ground. Your experiences have molded you. When you use your "seasoned" eyes, the eyes that represent a person confident in a particular subject, no matter what it is, you become empowered. Tapping into that part of you is a means to break ground on your platform.
You can also take detours, accessing platform for your project through side-door methods. You might not be a freelancer, but writing articles is one of the powerful introductions to a brand. You may hate contests, but placing in several begins to put your name on the map. Developing your brand takes time, but it doesn't mean you have to spend years writing one or two books to make it happen. You can get busy now, and make a name for yourself.
How to capitalize on your strengths to start your platform.
Use non-writing experience to make a name for yourself.
Platform isn't about a book or a service; it's about you.
Writing outside of your dream project can lead readers to it.
How attitude makes a difference.
How being a good fan can help with your brand.
How being three-dimensional accelerates your brand building.
How to see brand as entrepreneurial, not author-http://www.writersdigestshop.com

Hater/ By Maya Angelou
A hater is someone who is jealous and envious and spends all their
time trying to make you look small so they can look tall.
They are very negative people to say the least. Nothing is ever
good enough!
When you make your mark, you will always attract some haters…
That’s why you have to be careful with whom you share your
blessings and your dreams, because some folk can’t handle seeing you blessed…
It’s dangerous to be like somebody else… If God wanted you to be
like somebody else, He would have given you what He gave them! Right?
You never know what people have gone through to get what they
have…
The problem I have with haters is that they see my glory, but they
don’t know my story…
If the grass looks greener on the other side of the fence, you
can rest assured that the water bill is higher there too!
We’ve all got some haters among us!
Some people envy you because you can:
a) Have a relationship with God
b) Light up a room when you walk in
c) Start your own business
d) Tell a man / woman to hit the curb
(if he / she isn’t about the right thing)
e) Raise your children without both parents being in the home
Haters can’t stand to see you happy.
Haters will never want to see you succeed. Most of our haters are people who are supposed to be
on our side.
How do you handle your undercover haters? You can handle these haters by:
1. Knowing who you are & who your true friends are
*(VERY IMPORTANT!!)
2. Having a purpose to your life: Purpose does not
mean having a job. You can have a job and still be
unfulfilled.
A purpose is having a clear sense of what God has called you to be.
Your purpose is not defined by what others think about you.
3. By remembering what you have is by divine
prerogative and not human manipulation.
Fulfill your dreams! You only have one life to live…when it’s your
time to leave this earth, you ‘want’ to be able to say, ‘I’ve lived my
life and fulfilled ‘my’ dreams,… Now I’m ready to go HOME!
When God gives you favor, you can tell your haters, ‘Don’t look at
me…Look at Who is in charge of me…’
Pass this to all of your family & friends who you know are
not hating on you including the person who sent it to you
If you don’t get it back, maybe you called somebody out!Don’t worry about it, it’s not your problem, it’s theirs..
Just pray for them, that their life can be as fulfilled as
yours! Watch out for Haters…BUT most of all don’t become
a HATER!
‘A woman’s heart should be so hidden in Christ that a man
should have to seek Him first to find her.’

LOvE LeTter’s
We’ll, before I start posting the love letters. I have some memorabilia to share. Gosh, I just can’t believe it has been 40 years- but it has.
This is his first car that he had, the monthly payments were only $48.00 a month. Well actually, $37.80. Which I took over the payments and the VDUB- I will talk more about me and the V-DUB later. Or should I say the spirit of The V-DUB
So here is his ASB card from his last year in High School. His drivers test, the receipt for his driving school, plus pink slip- so she ( Rona ), could get out of class. Boy do I have a few of those. Rona just didn’t like to be in L.A. She wanted to be close to the beach where her beloved was. As you will read How much she just hated living there. Today, you would’ve loved to live there. Rona’s house was on a huge hill looking over L.A. A very beautiful view. Plus, the house was not a cottage by no means. It was a grand home- with loads and loads of trees.
Also-here is his copy of the social Security's Card slip, a copy of his Birth certificate

BOOK UPDATE
Well, I did it. What? you say, did what… I queried AN AGENT. I’VE BEEN LOOKING INTO THIS, THIS IS AN ART. I ALSO SENT MY MANUSCRIPT OFF TO THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS. it DOES TAKE A WHILE… AGAIN I WILL BE PATIENT. I JUST CAN’T WAIT TO SEE.
SO IN THE MEAN TIME,( NOT MEANING ANGRY). JUST A SAYING. I HAVE BEEN ILLUSTRATING MY BOOK, PLUS REALLY WANTING TO PUBLISH MY BROTHERS LOVE LETTERS. IF YOU WOULD HAVE MET THEM BOTH YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND WHAT I’M SAYING. THEY WE’RE INSEPARABLE.
THEY MET WHEN RONA (HIS GIRLFRIEND), WAS ONLY 11 YEARS OLD. MY BROTHER WAS SEEING HER SISTER… WELL, WAS DATING HER SISTER. RONA ALWAYS LIKE MY BROTHER. NOT EVER MENTIONING THIS TO HER SISTER. COULD YOU HAVE IMAGINED. WELL IT WAS JUST THAT.
MY BROTHER DIDN’T DATE HER SISTER FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. BUT, THEY ALWAYS STAYED IN TOUCH WITH EACH OTHER. THEY GREW UP IN THE SAME TOWN, A POPULAR BEACH TOWN. HER PARENTS AND FAMILY CAME FROM WEALTH. OURS OF COURSE CAME FROM MODESS NEEDS, TO SAY THE LEAST.
SO WITH LITTLE BIT OF BACK GROUND ON THIS ROMEO & JULIET STORY. RONA AND BOBBY-ALWAYS HAD EYES FOR EACH OTHER- IT ONLY TOOK 6 MONTHS BEFORE THEY STARTED TO REALLY LIKE EACH OTHER. THEY WERE HANGING AROUND WITH THE SAME FRIENDS, SAME AREA.
IT WAS A EXCITING TIME THE SUMMER OF 1969, JIMMY HENDRIX, JANICE JOPLIN AND THE VIETNAM WAR. OH LETS NOT FORGET WOODSTOCK AND LED ZEPPELIN.
RONA AND HER FAMILY OWNED AND MANAGED A APARTMENT COMPLEX. THE’RE HOUSE WAS IN THE BACK OF THE PROPERTY, ( ON THE BOARDWALK). THE APARTMENTS WE’RE IN THE FRONT. IT WAS A TWO STORY HOME. I’M TRYING TO PAINT A SIMPLE TIME, BECAUSE IT WAS AND INNOCENT TIME FOR US ALL.
RONA WAS OF ITALIAN AND SCOTTISH dissent. SUCH BEAUTIFUL SKIN ( OLIVE ). SHE WAS VERY THIN, IN ALL THE RIGHT PLACES-( I’M TALKING WHEN SHE WAS OLDER OF COURSE). BROWN HAIR AND BROWN EYES. MY BROTHER ( BOBBY ) ON THE OTHER HAND WAS A BLONDE HAIRED AND GREENED KID. BECAUSE THEY WE’RE JUST KIDS,. THEY WE’RE SO TOTALLY DIFFERENT, BUT SO MUCH INLOVE…

Love letters ( Romeo & Juliet )
Last week came with a surprise,
As we we're getting ready for our garage sale, my son brought down a box. I've seen this box before. As I opened this box and started to go through it, I notice something familiar. A small white bag filled with envelopes. I quick grab the knotted handle, ( you know when you tie the ends together ).
Well, I just could NOT wait to see what was inside, I ripped the bag open with such strenght. There they were, THE LETTERs, The LOVE LETTERs, from my late brother and his precious girl friend.
With that being said, with such anticipation I just wanted to sit right there and start to read them ALL.
My son ( Shawn ) said Mom!, come-on. We have work here. Dang I wanted to forget the Garage Sale all together, so I could just sit down and READ. I waited until that evening to open them up. and boy did I ever open them up and started to read...
One -by- One, I read. I must of read 5 or 6 before I stopped. Because I noticed that, she would write one, and he would write one, because the date on the stamps, they were dated the same day. So, i wanted to get them in order ( by the date they were sent ). So I put them in order and placed them back in the bag.
From time to time I will be reading the letters and typing them here.

Thank you for following me on my writing.
We'll it's been 2 months I Still, haven't heard anything from the publisher ( sigh). In their disclosure, it states, it could take up to 6 Months! to hear back from them... Okay, still wanted to hear anything by now,( you know what I mean). I'm not one whom likes to wait.
I do have a lot of patience with LIFE.
SPEAKING OF LIFE,
It can be so WONDERFUL, Like some of you that have followed me know that recently I, loss my Dearly Beloved ( Sigh), I'm learning to walk, then I will LEARN to Fly- It is all been
( I just can't describe it). HARD AS HELL...
Now there I said it. I know maybe this isn't a real healthy way of dealing with this, but I pretend that it is all a Dream, a bad dream and, I am just putting one foot in front of the other. I mean it I watch my foot steps. I often talk to my beloved. I constantly ask how ya doing. I always tell him, miss ya like Hell, and you know you didn't have to leave US.
I was on a Social Network today, I went to a friends site that I haven't seen in a long time. I saw so many pictures of my Husbands friends that he grew up with. It touched my heart dearly.
So it got me thinking... ( Scary thought), I have My late brothers LOVE LETTERS from his girl friend and himself. Everyday they wrote a letter to each other, The stamps were only 5 cents, wow can you even amagine, Plus check this out. Remember the LOVE IS cartoon from The Los Angeles Times. Well, my bro's girl friend cut it out everyday and put it in the letter's.
He had them on his wall for the longest time. I really need to find them. The early 70's was the time, the music was simple, but had such meaning. If anyone out there, you know what that was all about.
So looking forward to hearing from you
